CASE STUDY: DEPARTMENT FOR BUSINESS, ENERGY AND INDUSTRIAL STRATEGY
The Department have used RBLI for specialist workplace assessments for several years in order to support staff with long-term health conditions, medical concerns and disabilities. RBLI have also been to the Department to give talks to colleagues on disabilities and health conditions.
HOW WE HELPED
RBLI’s co-ordination team worked with the Department to set up appointments for the relevant staff. Assessors then visited staff in their place of work to conduct a thorough assessment which identified reasonable adjustments that the Department could make to ensure staff could do their job to the best of their ability, and weren’t disadvantaged due to their disability. Assessors spoke with IT colleagues to ensure adaptive technology recommendations were made with suitable awareness of the technical aspects of the organisation’s IT systems.
