RBLI joins thousands in celebration of service personnel at Armed Forces Day events
Royal British Legion Industries joined in the celebration of service personnel this weekend as thousands flocked to Armed Forces Day events around the country.
Armed Forces day is an annual national campaign that gives everyone the opportunity to show their support for the men and women of the Armed Forces including currently serving troops, service families, reservists, veterans and cadets.
Events have taken place and giving a much-valued morale boost for Armed Forces personnel and their families. This year’s national event takes place in Liverpool which RBLI attended - showcasing our transformative employment support programme LifeWorks to local veterans.
RBLI also presented LifeWorks at the National Memorial Arboretum - the national site of remembrance based at Alrewas, Staffordshire - and also attended an event closer to their head office in Kent at the Medway Armed Forces Day in Gillingham.
RBLI marketing manager Shelley McKevitt-Batt, who attended the event in Gillingham said: "It was fantastic to see the phenomenal support for our Armed Forces shown by the British Public.
"Events such as these not only allow the community to come together to support service personnel, both past and present, but also for military charities to better connect with the veteran community.
The UK Armed Forces defend the country and its interests. Every day of the year they are busy working around the world, promoting peace, delivering aid, and providing security and fighting terrorism."
