Hospitality Supervisor

The Job

Main Purpose of the Role

The Hospitality Supervisor acts as a hands-on Team leader for a diverse team and is to ensure a smooth daily catering operation. You and your Team will be responsible for all Food & Beverage resident services in all the catering & hospitality outlets of both homes.

In this role the HS is to meet operational objectives, audits and targets that will offer an “Outstanding” resident meal service and hospitality experience.

The HS is responsible to ensure all Hygiene and Health & Safety compliance standards are met.

The position is a hands-on role, which means a mixture of operational and supervisory shifts on the rota. He/she will perform as such to ‘role-model’ standards as per Standard of Operations.

The HS will be required to act as a Host/Hostess whose focus on the lifestyle and wellbeing needs of our residents.

The HS is responsible for ordering, deliveries, stock control, waste management and able to work within a budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • To act as the person in charge for the day to day catering operations
  • Stock orders, control and Delivery Care.
  • Hygiene and Health and Safety Compliance according industry regulations.
  • Responsible for the cleaning rota and the cleanliness of all catering service outlets and equipment’s.
  • To act as a Host/Hostess and inspire the team to deliver catering services with a residents care focus aptitude.
  • To maintain the delivery of all standards, with an eye for detail and to insist on consistency.
  • In charge of a 4-week rota and the management of the team annual leave and attendance records
  • Responsible for Training of the team as per catering and training specification and monitoring performance, coaching, guidance and supervisions.
  • Periodically perform audits, resident experience feedback.
  • To plan a seasonal resident choice menu as per our Food & Hospitality Strategy.

The Requirements

Role Requirements

Previous experience in a Supervisor’s role (minimum 2 years) and knowledge and experience in the Catering and/or Hospitality Industry and the leadership skills needed to motivate, coach, train, supervise and look after a diverse team.

Is flexible and a problem solver, is creative and is confident in making ad hoc decisions, but always with an eye on standards and resident satisfaction.

Has the interpersonal skills to act as Host/Hostess and is committed to serve individual resident needs has ‘Flair’ and the personality to be a role-model for his/her Team and at the same time has these attributes to look after and provide a service with charm and flair to our residents.

Previous experience in stock control (ordering and deliveries) and budget control

Computer skills for basic admin duties ( making of a rota, auditing purposes and report writing.)

Excellent time management.

A passion for Food & Beverage and has a culinary interest and calls him/herself a “foodie” with an interest in culinary cultures, diets, trends and innovations

Cooking and baking skills

Holds a Food and Hygiene certificate Level 2 or above.

Has a ‘Can-Do’ attitude and is able to motivate his/her Team

Experience working in a catering or hospitality environment

Available to work weekdays and weekends on early and/or late shifts, bank holidays included with a flexible work ethos as per catering/hospitality industry

Driving license and willingness to drive a small minibus, for the purpose of sourcing food and products in exceptional circumstances/ non delivery.
