Employability, Health & Wellbeing Trainer, Fixed Term, Part Time role, 22 hours per week

The Job

Main purpose of job:
To be part of the Let’s Get Working Team within RBLI, delivering on behalf of SCDA in Kent. To deliver a variety of health and wellbeing modules and courses to audiences from a wide range of backgrounds and walks of life. The role will see travel across the South East LEP.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting participants to manage their health in a way that optimises their potential for gainful employment.
  • To develop a range of health and wellbeing, and other relevant subject matter, materials for use with participants that is appropriate, engaging, informative and straightforward.
  • To deliver a range of training packages/modules, many of which are related to employability skills, to an often challenging audience, using a blended approach of training and coaching; to include workshops and group training.
  • To adapt delivery to match specific groups of participant needs, eg disability specific group delivery.
  • To regularly review and adapt course materials and/or delivery to ensure current participant needs are met.
  • To deliver as part of a team responsible for ensuring sustainable outcomes for the participants. Also to work with the wider team to ensure the best possible participant experience whether this be through delivery of training, following
  • up or other elements including administration.
  • Where appropriate, to liaise with other specialists where participants present with complex combinations of difficulties causing significant barriers to returning to work. This includes working with specialists in those areas where emotional and/or physical health needs to be incorporated into the training or where recipients of training are experiencing difficulties.
  • To evaluate own performance and overall training/development performance of each programme delivered to ensure aims, objectives and outcomes are achieved.
  • To ensure that your own actions support equality, diversity and rights of our participants and their families, and to be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work.
  • To reflect on own practice and develop new skills and abilities as required and to be an active participant in any appropriate in-service training and development programmes.
  • To participate in performance appraisal reviews as an appraisee.

The Requirements

Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:

  • Suitable Health Care Qualification to degree level or equivalent.
  • 5 year’s post registration experience.
  • HCPC Registration or equivalent eg. GMC, NMC
  • Recent experience of delivering training and coaching in a range of formats to a wide variety of participants/learners.
  • Competent user of MS Office applications or equivalent.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to use initiative in their work.
  • Must be able to work within specific deadlines.
  • Ability to plan and organise self and others.
  • Must be willing to travel across the South East regularly.
  • Must be able to satisfy requirements for DBS enhanced certification.

 

Desirable:

 

  • Possess or be prepared to work towards PTLLS or other appropriate qualification.
  • Ability to clinically evaluate and innovate.
  • Proven experience implementing change
  • Experience of designing a range of training workshops, including aspects of employability and motivation
