Residents Placement & Contracts Manager

The Job

This is a new position for a full time, 6 month fixed term contract, based in Bradbury House which is located on Aylesford, Kent. You will work 37 hours per week.

Salary: £45-50,000 per annum, dependent upon experience

 

Key Relationships:

Internally: SMT; Direct Reports; Registered Managers (care and Dom Care) Head of Welfare, Housing Manager

 

Externally: KCC, Referral Agencies, Local Authorities, Hospitals, Clinical Commissioning groups, partner and referral organisations in the care, assisted living, housing and homelessness and military sectors

 

Main Purpose of the Job:

The post will optimise occupancy across all homes with in RBLI, through effective liaison with Local Authorities and Clinical Commissioning groups and partner and referral agencies across the key sectors.  Focusing initially on those homes with the highest number of vacancies.

 

A pipeline of referrals will be developed to all homes and through effective communication, support will be provided to enable referrals to be monitored until effective placements are achieved.

 

As part of the RBLI Living team, the post holder will work closely with Home Managers and Marketing Manager to ensure continued focus is maintained on occupancy levels.

 

Interact with finance team regarding admissions, discharges and funding streams with accountability for making decisions.

 

Your Key Responsibilities:

Occupancy

  • Ensure all homes achieve budgeted occupancy through an effective pipeline of referrals and exceeding this where possible.
  • Familiarise yourself with the assessment tool to support the home and ensure assessments are carried out in a timely manner
  • Be familiar with the fee structure and associated admission fee for potential new residents
  • Support the Registered managers in ensuring that referrals lead to active placements.
  • Ensure an up to date waiting list is held at each home and revisited on a regular basis to ensure accuracy
  • Provide Director of RBLI Living with weekly progress reports.

 

Relationships

  • Identify gaps in active liaison with local provinces.
  • Act as a main point of contact for liaison offices at all the referral routs.
  • Work closely with Marketing team to ensure that the relevant marketing material is relevant, produced and made available for key stakeholders.
  • To develop a clear picture of each local authority decision making unit.
  • To develop a clear understanding of local authority’s strategies and policies relating to the service offered by RBLI.
  • Liaise with local NHS Trusts and Discharge facilitators in terms of potential referrals.
  • Maintain overall responsibility for the coordination and progress terms of occupancy and report to the Director of Living.
  • Ensure RBLI is seen as a Provider of Choice in all areas of its work
  • Communicate directly with Local Authorities to determine available funding opportunities.

 

Compliance

  • To be accountable in ensuring that all necessary systems and processes are in place that provide the appropriate level of compliance and governance to satisfy the CE, Board of Trustees

 

Data Protection

  • Support the overall strategic direction of data protection and information security in RBLI, by enabling the implementation of compliance and best practice.

 

Commercial/Finance

  • To be responsible for the delivery of the occupancy budget.
  • To ensure that the Director of Living receives timely monthly performance reports and KPI’s for areas of responsibility

 

Leadership

Essentials Required:

Experience

  • Proven track record in improving service occupancy levels
  • In-depth knowledge of the Care sector
  • Considerable experience in the adult social healthcare sector
  • Experience of working at a senior level in a care regulated environment
  • Significant experience of fee structures and delivering results against pre-agreed budget targets

 

Knowledge

  • Demonstrable experience of addressing occupancy levels
  • Experience of managing projects
  • Proven track record in improving service delivery
  • Working with external contactors

 

Skills

  • Excellent written, oral, presentation and communication skills
  • Effective negotiating and influencing skills
  • Ability to assess and analyse data and financial information
  • Ability to work within tight budget controls
