Former Governor of the Bank of England Lord King announced as RBLI's President

Lord King, Former Governor of the Bank of England, on becoming RBLI’s new President said: “I am delighted to become the President of Royal British Legion Industries. The charity has delivered vital support to veterans and people with disabilities for over 100 years.

“It is providing jobs for the most vulnerable veterans in our country in this difficult time. RBLI’s unique community is helping individuals who are facing a crisis in their lives, need help to retrain and adapt to a new emotional and professional challenge.

“This work is needed now more than ever.

During this pandemic, charities are right at the frontline of care for the most vulnerable people in our community.

If we are in a position to help, we must step up to support those charities. I have been delighted to see the public getting behind RBLI’s Tommy in the Window campaign.

“This venture kept veterans with disabilities in work when the crisis hit earlier in the year. As RBLI’s President I would like to thank the public for stepping up in this way, and I would also like to encourage people to join RBLI’s new Tommy Club, and maintain national momentum behind support for our veterans.”
