New funding announced to support employability for families of Armed Forces veterans

The Office for Veterans’ Affairs has awarded new funding to RBLI, which will enable the charity to offer new skills training to families of veterans in four locations around the UK.

The new OVA Career Development Fund has named RBLI as one of 11 charities it is supporting.

Thanks to this funding, RBLI will be offering employability training and support for spouses, partners and family members of veterans. It will run face-to-face training in Tidworth, Catterick and two further locations during 2024-2025.

RBLI will work in partnership with the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust to ensure that commitments following this grant are delivered in the coming year.

Anna Wright, Chief Executive of the Trust, says: “The Veterans’ Career Development Fund offers an important new step in veterans’ access to meaningful employment, so that the latter more closely aligns with their skills and experience.

“Following on from other programmes where collaboration has played a major part in the success of projects, we’re keen for projects funded under this new programme to connect, network and, in turn, strengthen their provision through joined-up working.”
