RBLI Launches Tommy Tea

RBLI is proud to be launching Tommy Tea in memory of Betty Underhill OBE. Betty was a Trustee of RBLI from 1996 to 2011. She passionately dedicated her life to raising funds to support veterans and their families who were most in need. When Betty sadly passed away in 2018, she was able to continue making a difference to the cause she cared so deeply for through a generous gift left in her will to RBLI. Betty is described as a ‘leading light‘ in recognition of her leadership and the energy she put in to helping the veteran community. We hope to match Betty’s generous legacy through the Tommy Tea, and provide support and homes to even more veterans and their families, in Betty’s honour.

Morrisons have committed to supporting RBLI’s Tommy Tea by creating Afternoon Tea boxes for customers to order, giving them all they need to hold their own Tommy Tea. For £15 customers will get you all of the traditional teatime treats including scones, clotted cream, cakes and ingredients for sandwiches. For £20 customers will also be able to enjoy a full-size bottle of Prosecco. Both boxes support the Royal British Legion Industries’ (RBLI) Tommy Tea campaign, with £1 from every box going to the charity, as well as an additional £10,000 that has been donated by the supermarket.

Amy Bishop, Manager of Food Boxes at Morrisons said: “We’re proud to continue supporting our veterans and the RBLI’s Tommy’s Tea Campaign. Our new food box is packed full of ingredients for customers to host their own celebrations to mark this historic occasion.”
