Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) is proud to announce that it has been awarded a national road signage contract by Tarmac, one of the UK’s leading sustainable construction solutions and building materials companies.
Delivered through RBLI’s social enterprises – Britain’s Bravest Manufacturing Company in Kent and Scotland’s Bravest Manufacturing Company in Glasgow – the agreement marks a significant milestone in a long-standing partnership between the two organisations. The new national framework will enable RBLI to expand its road signage operations across the UK, supporting both major infrastructure projects and regional schemes.
This collaboration not only strengthens commercial ties but also reinforces Tarmac’s commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant, supporting veterans and individuals with disabilities through inclusive procurement practices.
Royal British Legion Industries’ (RBLI) manufacturing businesses are unique in the UK, providing direct employment to military veterans and people with disabilities, and marks their first opportunity many of whom are living with physical or mental health challenges. The new contract will help sustain and grow these opportunities, enabling veterans to build new careers in a supportive and purpose-driven environment.
Melanie Lay, Head of Sales at RBLI, commented:
“We are absolutely delighted with this new contract, which will benefit both of our signage factories in Kent and Glasgow. Every new partnership we secure allows us to strengthen the very foundation of our mission – creating meaningful employment for veterans and people with disabilities. We’re proud to be working alongside Tarmac to deliver both quality and social impact.”
Toby Pyper, Contracting National Performance Director at Tarmac, added:
“We’re proud to extend our partnership with RBLI through this national signage agreement. The work they do not only provides high-quality products for our projects but also delivers real social value by supporting veterans and helping to change lives. This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to responsible, inclusive procurement and to making a lasting positive impact across the communities we serve.”
