Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) proudly marked a milestone 15-year partnership with infrastructure services company Amey during the Amey Defence Supplier Forum in York on 24 July, celebrating a shared commitment to purposeful partnerships that deliver real social value.
A special moment during the event came when RBLI’s Head of Sales Melanie Lay presented Amey’s Craig McGilvray with a commemorative plaque, recognising Amey’s sustained commitment to RBLI’s mission to empower the Armed Forces community. Through its procurement with RBLI’s social enterprises, Britain’s Bravest Manufacturing Company (BBMC) and Scotland’s Bravest Manufacturing Company (SBMC), Amey has helped seven veterans secure purposeful employment this year alone. These enterprises, founded and operated by RBLI, are the UK’s leading providers of employment to veterans and people with disabilities, producing road and rail signage for partners and clients across the UK.
Melanie Lay commented, “We’re really proud to be a major employer of veterans, especially those who are struggling after service. Social enterprise couldn’t deliver this meaningful employment without clients like Amey.”
Colin Harsant, Managing Director of Social Enterprise, added, “Together with our other customers, Amey enables us to employ over 70 veterans and people with disabilities across our three sites, making a difference every day to their lives and the opportunities they have. We are also proud to work alongside Amey and other partners in the National Highways Challenge, championing the creation of social value through the road network across England and Wales.”
The partnership, first forged in 2008, reflects RBLI’s leadership in providing accessible, inclusive employment for veterans and people with disabilities.
