A Kent-based social enterprise organisation is celebrating becoming the sole signage supplier for a national tier one infrastructure contractor.
Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) has agreed the deal with Octavius Infrastructure, the rail and highways experts, signing a four-year contract and taking receipt of their site signage catalogue.
Colin Harsant, RBLI’s Director of Social Enterprise, said: “We’re very pleased to have become the sole supplier of signage for Octavius, having previously worked with them on smaller projects for a number of years.
“This is a significant next development which gives us a long-term pipeline of work, ensuring we can provide new roles in our factories.
“It is great that Octavius signed up to the Bronze Armed Forces Covenant in 2022. It’s a recognition from the Ministry of Defence that reflects their growing commitment to the Armed Forces community, and we are proud to work with them to deepen that relationship in the future.”
The signage catalogue is a visual list of pre-agreed signs required for a contract. This includes dimensions, usage, and the number of copies required, so that they can be made to order without delay.
The catalogue covers approximately 300 pre-agreed signs for the contract, with the option for additional personalisation as required.
Paul McCulloch, Head of Supply Chain and Strategic Projects at Octavius, added: “Seeing the scale of RBLI’s operations and the impact they deliver was incredibly powerful. We’re proud to deepen our partnership and continue embedding social value into our supply chain.”
RBLI has recently submitted a planning application for a new factory at Aylesford in Kent for its social enterprise team, to create a purpose-built home for BBMC, which employs veterans and people with disabilities.
The military charity is proposing to replace its existing 1970s factory and offices at Aylesford, at a total cost of £12.5m. The new 68,000ft2 purpose-built facility would continue to produce road and track side signs for the road and rail industry.
