Remembering Our Patron, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Kent GCVO

Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Kent GCVO.

Her Royal Highness served as RBLI’s Patron for more than forty years, offering quiet but steadfast support to our charity and the communities we serve. She held a lifelong commitment to our nation’s veterans and to people with disabilities.

The Duchess visited RBLI’s Aylesford factory in 1970 and the RBLI Village in 1980, moments that remain deeply significant in our history. Her presence reflected a genuine interest in the dignity of work, community, and care, and her support helped RBLI mark key milestones in our journey.

Throughout her life, The Duchess was known for her quiet advocacy for the vulnerable, championing inclusive opportunity with humility and grace. We were honoured to be among the charities she supported, united in our mission to empower veterans and people with disabilities to lead independent, fulfilling lives.

We extend our sincere condolences to her family and loved ones, and we thank Her Royal Highness for the lasting impact she made on our organisation and the wider community.
