Individual Giving Manager

The Job

 Are you an innovative and ambitious Individual Giving Manager with a broad range of experience who can help us build on our campaigns to join our friendly and high performing fundraising team.  You will lead on the development, planning, and delivery of the Individual Giving programme that includes appeals resulting in one off and regular giving, growing our Tommy Club community as well as tribute funds, in memoriam giving and gifts in Wills.

The role is based on our veteran village in Kent so you will have the opportunity to see what the charity supports every day.  We will give you the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the life of the charity as we seek to grow our income from fundraising.  The postholder will line manage our Individual Giving Executive.

The Royal British Legion Industries has over its 104 year history been providing support to the Armed Forces community and those with disabilities.  Each part of RBLI offers a service to help veterans of any age or background from across the three services live an independent life with whatever support.

We have ambitious plans to double our fundraising income and we are part way through this.

Based in Aylesford with hybrid working arrangements

Key responsibilities of the roles will include:

    • Leading the individual giving income stream
    • Creating engaging communications to encourage long-term support
    • Developing a multi-year individual giving strategy to grow their donorbase
    • Develop and strengthen RBLI’s one off and regular giving income
    • Creating stewardship plans for supporters including one off and regular givers
    • Further developing the legacy, in-mem and mid value programmes

The Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role will:

  • Have extensive experience within individual giving, across multiple channels
  • Be an experienced Individual Giving Manager who can hit the ground running
  • Have demonstrable experience in acquisition, donor development and an understanding of other income streams (in-mem and legacy)
  • Have the ability to manage multiple marketing campaigns from start-finish
  • Possess excellent relationship building skills with supporters
  • Have great attention to detail, strong organisation and time management skills
  • Be confident and personable, with exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships
