David

At the age of 95, David now has the security of a home and the reassurance of RBLI’s support and community around him. It is a fitting repayment for someone who leapt into action daily to keep the skies over our country safe.

As ground crew for the night fighter squadrons at RAF West Malling David and his unit serviced the fighter jets, keeping this elite force flying and our country protected throughout the night.

On leaving the RAF David’s dedication to the service to others continued as he became an active Borough Councillor for 20 years, looking after many communities and causes.

However, in 2022, David lost his partner Gloria, and found himself alone. Fortunately RBLI could help and today David lives surrounded by other veterans with help and support always on hand.

David says:  “RBLI has given me everything in life that I need. Everyone has been so kind. It feels like I’m home at last.”
