Eighty years ago, while Europe celebrated VE Day, servicemen like Percy Bowpitt were still fighting in the unforgiving jungles of the Far East. As part of the often-overlooked Forgotten Army, their battles continued long after the war was thought to be won.

We know that returning to civilian life can be challenging. That’s why, for over 100 years, Royal British Legion Industries has supported veterans like Percy who have faced injury, trauma, or hardship after service. We provide safe homes, meaningful jobs, and tailored welfare support in a community built just for them.

Today, Percy lives at RBLI’s Centenary Village, surrounded by fellow veterans and dedicated teams who understand military life.
